Create a project
Give your application a dedicated project in the Top Secrete console. Use a name that maps clearly to the service you are building.
How it works
Organize secrets around your projects, keep environments distinct, and use a language-specific SDK to retrieve the values your application needs.
Four steps
A simple workflow that keeps the moving parts understandable.
Give your application a dedicated project in the Top Secrete console. Use a name that maps clearly to the service you are building.
Separate values for development, staging, and production. Keep each environment's configuration clearly identified.
Create named values such as DATABASE_URL, PAYMENT_API_KEY, or SESSION_SECRET in the appropriate environment.
Initialize the SDK with your project and environment, then request the secret by its name from your application code.
In your code
The SDK gives your application a consistent interface for requesting a named secret. Choose a language tab to view an example.
Read the SDK guideimport { TopSecrete } from "@topsecrete/sdk";
const secrets = new TopSecrete({
project: "edgipay-api",
environment: "production",
});
const databaseUrl = await secrets.get("DATABASE_URL");Designed around your app
Group the secrets used by an application or service.
Keep development, staging, and production values separate.
Retrieve a value using a stable name such as DATABASE_URL.
